According to legend, the Langtang
Valley was discovered by Lama following runway yak,
hence the name Lang is Yak for Tibetan and Tang
means to follow. Langtang is a narrow Valley that lies
just south of Tibet boarder, sandwiched between main
Himalayan range to the northern and a slightly lower
range of snow clad peaks to the south. This high and
isolated region is inhabituated by people of Tibetan
origin, who practice Buddhism. A visit to Langtang
Valleys offers an opportunity to explore Village as well
as to visit glaciers at the head of the Valley and views
of Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Dorje Lakpa &
Shisapangma (Chinese Mountain). |
